The world is slowly dying because of the pollution brought about by the tons of trash we scatter every day. Some people would not even bother throwing their trash in the right place, all the more segregate them. Many people, especially those who ‘do not feel they have to clean’, leave things as is. Even if they see a piece of trash within their reach, they ignore it and refuse to help in cleaning the planet.
But it is different for Mr. Yo. He feels that it is everybody’s duty to clean whatever they can, whenever they can, regardless of status. He is actually a millionaire but chooses to do this simple task every day early in the morning because he knows it is for his own betterment. He has been doing this deed for 11 years now, and still continues to do so.
This selfless act has caught the attention of locals, seeing that he is not from around the area. He was from Korea, but has been living in Bahrain for quite some time. Calling himself the “boss of cleaning”, he now serves as a great example to those who are living in the said area. Policemen and other locals would often question what he was doing, and he would simply answer: “garbage annoys me.”
He does not do it for attention or profit, but simply wanting to “clean” his surroundings. If only each person in the whole world would pick up a piece of trash, we could save the planet.
